Student-Athletes have many opportunities to apply for and receive scholarships for their hard work and dedication. Check out the scholarship opportunities below!

John Lynch Foundation (JFL) Scholarships — Applications due March 1, 2021

The JLF awards $96,000 each year to Denver and Colorado area student-athletes!

The JLF scholarship application process is now open for the Lynch Family Legacy Scholarships. See the description below and apply today! Applications are due March 1, 2021.

The Lynch Family Legacy Scholarships are offered to high school seniors from public or private schools in the Denver and greater Colorado area. Four renewable scholarships worth up to $24,000 ($6,000 / year) are awarded to high school senior student-athletes. Recipients are chosen based on academics, athletics, community involvement, financial need, leadership, and other intangible qualities.

This is an online application process, which will close on Monday, March 1st at midnight.

Sachs Foundation Scholarships — Applications due March 15, 2021

The Sachs Foundation provides undergraduate, graduate, and “named scholarships” for scholars who meet certain academic and financial criteria. Applications are only available between January 1st through March 15th. Scholarships are typically awarded in the amount of $8,000 to $10,000 per year for four years of study ($32,000 to $40,000 total award).

Undergraduate Scholarships Criteria

  • Black high school student in their senior year 
  • Full-time Colorado Resident for a minimum of five years. Residence do to military orders to Colorado may be accepted on a case by case basis. 
  • Have attained a cumulative, weighted GPA of at least a 3.0 through your last completed term. 

Graduate Scholarships Criteria

  • This scholarship is ONLY available to Sachs Foundation scholarship recipients who will or have received their undergraduate degree within the last three years. 

 Named Scholarships 

  • Effie Stroud Scholar – Top applicant in the application pool 
  • Gertrude Lee Scholar – Applicant who has shown most outstanding service to the community 
  • Morris Esmiol Scholar – Best personal statement in the applicant pool 
  • Dolphus Stroud Scholar – Applicant who has used athletics to overcome adversity 
  • Morris Esmiol Jr Scholar – Applicant who has most excelled in STEM subjects. 
Shyolanda Brown Family Foundation — Applications due March 31, 2021

The Shyolanda Brown Family Foundation Scholarship is an undergraduate scholarship program available to one of Denver metro-area’s exceptional, African-American high school student-athletes with financial need seeking to attend a 4-year college or university.

Brown Scholars receive $1,500 per year for 4 years, at total of $6,000.

Triple-Impact Competitor Scholarship — Applications Due May 31, 2021

PCA awards over 100 scholarships of $1,000 minimum to high school student-athletes, based on their responses to questions pertaining to how they meet the standard defined in Elevating Your Game: Becoming a Triple-Impact Competitor by PCA Founder Jim Thompson.

  • Personal Mastery: Making oneself better
  • Leadership: Making one’s teammates better
  • Honoring the Game: Making the game better

The application period for juniors graduating in 2022 is NOW OPEN! Current juniors graduating in 2022 are eligible to apply now through May 31st, 2021.
